Muirfield Village
Dublin Ohio
Patrick J. Beam assisted design and execution of this project as a Principal of Bassett Associates.
Muirfield Village is a comprehensive residential community, encompassing single family homes, townhouse, apartments, schools, parks, campus-style office suites, and a full range of recreational activities. Two championship golf courses were designed by Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus also had a major influence on the development of land around the courses. His primary concern was to create a planned community that would enhance the golf courses and provide an overall impression of the natural countryside than suburban housing. Forty percent of Muirfield's 1600 acres is designated as open space; remaining as golf courses, walkways, bikeways, open meadows, wooded areas, lakes, and streams. Concern for stewardship of the land was of primary importance in the creation of Muirfield Village.
